Discordance: Phantom World Locale

Discordance is one of seven officially named Phantom World locales, listed by S-GAME in the Steam store and the story summary. Nothing further has been published.

What is Discordance?

The publisher’s summary of the story groups it in one breath with the Wulin and the other Phantom World names: “Memory Flowers, the Wulin and the Discordance, Transcension, the Lady of the Veil, Inanis’ Dreamscape…”

Discordance is published by S-GAME through the Steam store’s about section, and that single mention is the whole of it. No other first-party source adds a sentence about it. No visual description, no traversal note, no character attached to it, no fight staged there.

The locations overview lists it among the seven officially named locations and world terms. Its row records “Named within the Phantom World” against “Individual description and map details” unrevealed.

An officially published proper noun tells a reader that a place called Discordance exists in the game’s world. It does not say what the place is made of.

The Phantom World description in full

Official store copy describes the Phantom World generally: shifting light and shadow conceal mysteries at every turn, and exploration features hidden passages and mechanisms. Those are descriptions of the containing space, published once for the whole of it.

They are not a description of Discordance. The copy does not say that the hidden passages or the mechanisms are in Discordance, does not say how large Discordance is, and does not say what a player would do there beyond the general exploration framing. Reading the Phantom World sentences as a locale briefing would be borrowing detail the source never attached to this name in particular.

How does Discordance fit into the story?

The confirmed story frame is a conspiracy, and it is the one thing the official summary puts at the centre of the martial world. Soul is framed for murdering his master, takes a devastating wound to the heart, and is left with sixty-six days to live. Alone and hunted, he roams the Wulin to unravel a conspiracy that has ensnored the martial world. The store copy describes that journey as “rain and blood, kindness and vengeance; love and hatred intertwined in search of a heart” — themes, not mechanics, and not a branch structure. The endings and story guide records that no ending has been published.

The confirmed combat framework is a separate matter, and it is not tied to any location. Combat is dodge, deflect, counter, and strike in one seamless flow, built around Sha-Chi rather than a stamina bar: light attacks and perfect dodges build it, blocking drains it, and a perfect parry does not spend it. The combat and systems guide has that structure in full.

S-GAME’s setting label, KungfuPunk — wuxia cinema colliding with punk fantasy, with mechanical prosthetics, industrial ruins, Chinese aesthetics, and modern rock music — describes the presentation of the whole game. None of it is Discordance-specific.

Which details of Discordance are still unpublished?

Specifically: no map, no area size, no unlock or progression order, no subregion names, no collectible list, no NPC or enemy roster, no boss assignment, and no confirmation of what kind of space it is — interior, exterior, arena, or settlement. None of the officially named bosses has been placed in it. The five names the publisher has actually confirmed for bosses and encounter phases are Mó Yuan, Seven Stars, Seven Stars Sword Formation, String Puppet, and The Hunt, and the official content status records that none of them is assigned to a location.

The named locales and the named bosses are two separate lists, and no source yet joins them.
