What engine and PC graphics features are confirmed?

Phantom Blade Zero is developed by S-GAME Studio in Unreal Engine 5. S-GAME confirms ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, and a strategic partnership with NVIDIA.

Those features describe the PC rendering stack, not measured performance. No independent benchmark results or final frame-time data are available in the cited first-party material.

Is ray tracing required for the intended visual experience?

No. This is the most important qualification in S-GAME’s own graphics messaging. The developer says it put additional effort into preserving as much visual impact as possible without relying on ray tracing. Ray tracing is intended to enhance the presentation, while the core look, atmosphere, and intensity are meant to remain effective without it.

That makes ray tracing an enhancement rather than a requirement for the intended art direction. It does not prove how any particular GPU will perform, but it is a useful first-party statement for players deciding whether non-RT hardware is automatically excluded from the visual target.

What are the official PC requirements?

S-GAME’s official requirements page publishes these two general tiers:

Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10/11 64-bit Windows 10/11 64-bit
CPU Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Intel Core i5-10600K / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB
Memory 16 GB RAM 16 GB RAM
DirectX Version 12 Version 12
Storage SSD required SSD required
Target 1080p / 30 FPS with upscaling enabled 1440p / 60 FPS with upscaling enabled

Both published targets explicitly include upscaling, so the frame rates are with the upscaler on rather than at native resolution.

How large is the install?

An aggregated press item dated October 16, 2026 reports a 134.857 GB PS5 download, based on PlayStation backend information shared by the PlayStation Game Size tracking account. This is press-reported, not a figure published on Steam, S-GAME’s requirements page, or the official S-GAME site.

It is also not an official PC install-size figure. PC buyers should rely on the confirmed requirement—an SSD is required—and check the live client download when preload or release data becomes available.

What performance and accessibility features does Steam list?

Steam’s app data lists several features relevant to how the game can be played and configured:

  • Adjustable Text Size
  • Custom Volume Controls
  • Adjustable Difficulty
  • Full controller support
  • Steam Input API Support
  • DualSense controller support
  • Stereo Sound

These are storefront capability labels, not evidence of a particular frame rate or input-latency result. The combat and systems guide covers confirmed game mechanics, while the confirmed weapons page records the officially disclosed arsenal structure.

Why does the Epic Games Store show different specification detail?

As checked on October 17, 2026, the Epic Games Store system-requirements panel listed Windows 10 64-bit but left the other PC specification fields as TBD. S-GAME’s dedicated requirements page is therefore the more complete first-party specification source for the two tiers above.

Storefront fields can be updated independently. Buyers should compare the live listing they intend to purchase from rather than assume every store has identical metadata.

Steam DRM and anti-cheat

Steam’s product page states that the game incorporates third-party DRM: Denuvo. This is a neutral purchase consideration: it identifies the listed protection, but it does not establish a performance cost for this game without measurements.

Is there a verified optimized-settings guide?

Not yet. The official targets establish supported hardware classes, output targets, and the use of upscaling, but they do not provide enough evidence for per-setting recommendations. No benchmark FPS figures, frame-time results, or game-specific optimized values should be treated as verified before testing on the release build.
